Oh no.....
Well Rosie had her first unexpected deviation from the plan. I had a couple hours to work on a small project so I thought I would re screw the trim on the front left hand side. Well when I put in a screw it wouldn't hold....I pulled the trim away and yep it was all rotten underneath. Ugh So thankfully Jacob is home for a visit and he came to help because removing anything from Rosie is like pulling teeth...its not easy and is quite painful!! We removed the paneling on the wall, then the supports behind. I still have to put the new pieces in, but Jacob and I had to go 4 wheeling instead....so that is next weekends goal!

Weekend Three...
Wow am I sore today!! It's Monday October 20th and I think every muscle in my body is screaming at me. LOL I am not use to manual labor!!
Friday night after work I slathered on the roofing sealant, I may have gotten more on me than the roof. I am again crossing my fingers in hopes that I will not have another leak.

I did discover that Rosie already had squatter living in her, but this lovely little Black Widow left on the bottom of my shoe.....ewwww.
Then bright and early on Saturday I added some new supports in the roof and all the insulation. I had fun measuring and cutting and it magically fit LOL. I also removed the front plate of the cabinet above the dinette area. The previous owner put an ugly hole in it and I needed to fit the ceiling an inch or so behind it. Just like anything else attached in Rosie it was a real beast to remove!!
Ok so I got started a little late on Sunday because I overslept and didn't even make church oops. Since I still need to run all the wiring for electric I am not finishing the ceiling yet so decided to start on removing the floor covering. Here are the before and after removal.
Now I have a week to recuperate...we have been blessed with nice weather and hopefully we have a few more weekends of it!!

Roof Fail...
So I worked on the roof last weekend. I re riveted it and sealed the top with a tape to repair trailers. The next day it rained cats and dogs and I actually stepped in a poodle (that's for you Sam) LOL. Ok anyway I came home and checked and yep...it leaked....ugh. So back to the drawing board this weekend. This time with a metal roller, heat gun and more sealant in hand. Don't mess with me mother nature!! I will let you know.
Fabric Love!!
I finally found the perfect fabric for Rosie's dinette and gaucho.
![Premier Prints Indoor/Outdoor Embrace Calypso](https://d2d00szk9na1qq.cloudfront.net/Product/e37d4a19-399f-4dfc-a828-a2e646cd8305/Images/Large_0328060.jpg)
...this is for the dinette.
This is for the gaucho...

I bought a futon mattress from Wal-Mart to use on the gaucho. This way I can use it as a couch during the day and a full size bed at night. It is by far cheaper than the foam that is super uncomfortable!!
Fabric $62.00
Futon $161.00
Total to date $1,817.00

Part 2 Restoration
Rosie is coming along just fine, I am not sure I am. Standing on the rung of a ladder bent over the roof of a camper for long periods of time is a little painful. This girl is use to sitting at a desk all day not manual labor...but it sure is rewarding to see progress. Last weekend I not only removed all the junk the previous owner had put on the ceiling, but also the cabinet that butted up to the ceiling.
Yeah it was a mess!
The cabinet was a booger to get out, the nails were attached at a 90 degree angle. Ugh thank goodness I had my daughters boyfriend to help me. He was awesome!!

Next on the to do list is to fix the gaping hole in the roof that happened from the rivets separating and the metal pulled away. I had to scrape all the gunk that had been added over the years and then had to rivet the entire seam and add a metal roof leak proof tape. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX0nSY62ppd67fcsSSstcIB1cWS6eJUZKU1hPt6Jp3fCZsJHBSm8KIAF1IsOQEzyKRRd5scTnvwtLA_gR01gkC5RvqNJfhhOkFMjYtsKvj11dRdw6DQb0woznVR9sLdbGfq5UdvWUKiEiM/s1600/033.JPG)
My first rivet!! Now she is really Rosie the Riveter LOL
Ok so now that the roof is sealed (crossing fingers on that) I cleaned up the inside a bit more and took all the stray nails screws and staples out of the plywood. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkILXJtCay7m4MZsk7qCfJM7MmRnYABF7XFssIf5BJsydiU-kJMQ3eWh2ry3mOawfJadT4Qu9a0GArs4ljUPyTNo0MbQER-IK7jrfzK2ax5ihF8RcXBFTO1_5U9v4ZVZPaFN0K4eIvd4iC/s1600/058.JPG)
The next job is to cut off all these stay nails between the ceiling and walls so I can insert my insulation and MDF board in.
She is coming along nicely and just two weekends of work. Since it rained all day Saturday I went shopping for material. I will show you that in a future post since I am not exactly sure I like what I got.
Previous total 1,159.00
Numerous trips to Lowe's and Harbor Freight (approx) 200.00
Lumber 159.00
Roofing tape 75.00
New Total $1,593.00

Part 1 of Restoration
Rosie's tires were created in 1971....yes I was 3 years old. I picked her up on a Sunday and the tire shop wasn't going to be open much longer. I got there 10 minuets before they closed...whew talk about cutting it close. I was scared I would have a blow out on the way home and I am not use to pulling anything.
Believe me I white knuckled it all the way home I didn't need to worry about the tires too. The running lights didn't work....which I believe was a jeep issue not a Rosie issue and she didn't have a tag or title. In fact the Oklahoma Tag Agency says she is not in the digital data base and therefore I now have to jump through a few hoops to get one....but that is for another post. I was scared to say the least driving her home but I backed her in my drive way right as the sun was going down. Now she is home...
New Tires $206.00
Gas to OKC $50.00
1st Round of Supplies $103.00
Total to Date $1,159.00

Day 1
I have no idea what I was thinking but I didn't take my Jeep with me to OKC when I went to go look at the Craigslist ad for a 1965 Serro Scotty Sportsman. There were no pictures on the ad and I just sort of lucked into it. I texted the owner and these are the pictures she sent me:

I was hooked before I even met her and when I pulled up I knew she was special. The lady was quite the hippie and she loved this girl very much, but she needed the money. She was asking $1000.00 but I offered $800.00 and she took it. I knew I could get at least that back on her if I started having buyers remorse. I gave her the money and said I would be back the next day to get her.
