Part 2 Restoration

Rosie is coming along just fine, I am not sure I am.  Standing on the rung of a ladder bent over the roof of a camper for long periods of time is a little painful.  This girl is use to sitting at a desk all day not manual labor...but it sure is rewarding to see progress.  Last weekend I not only removed all the junk the previous owner had put on the ceiling, but also the cabinet that butted up to the ceiling.

Yeah it was a mess!

The cabinet was a booger to get out, the nails were attached at a 90 degree angle.  Ugh thank goodness I had my daughters boyfriend to help me.  He was awesome!!

Ok so here she is sort of cleaned up...yay I love seeing results.

Next on the to do list is to fix the gaping hole in the roof that happened from the rivets separating and the metal pulled away.  I had to scrape all the gunk that had been added over the years and then had to rivet the entire seam and add a metal roof leak proof tape.

My first rivet!!  Now she is really Rosie the Riveter LOL

Ok so now that the roof is sealed (crossing fingers on that) I cleaned up the inside a bit more and took all the stray nails screws and staples out of the plywood.

The next job is to cut off all these stay nails between the ceiling and walls so I can insert my insulation and MDF board in.

She is coming along nicely and just two weekends of work.  Since it rained all day Saturday I went shopping for material.  I will show you that in a future post since I am not exactly sure I like what I got.
